Looking to broaden the “ash plume sunset” images I headed up onto the moors yesterday evening. I started off wandering around the Hey Tor area. However the light was a bit glarey and lacked clarity (maybe an hour and a half before sunset) so I headed towards Honeybags/Chinkwell tors. By the time I [...] Leaving home to head for the moors on Wednesday evening it was overcast and didn’t look all that promising but when we got to the southern end of Hameldon there were some glimpses of the sun.

And experimenting with macros. There are some delicate and interesting plants and parts of plants showing beautiful colours to be seen in the garden just now. The leaf of the rose above has such colour to it – it is an old rose that was in the garden when we [...] On a Wednesday night I will often walk with friends on Dartmoor however it has rained quite a lot recently so we decided to take a shorter walk in the Bay. This shows the storm approaching.
There was a fairly brief storm, rain, hail, sleet (which we did not [...] This post does not relate to any specific photo shoot but to the fact that, from time to time, I realise I am paying as much attention to the reflections I see as the conventional view. This goes back to the start of the month but I’ve only just had time to deal with these ones. They were taken crossing Dartmoor in later afternoon light. I think I will let them speak for themselves.
They are a little noisy compared to some maybe but [...] The plan last week was to go to the city to do some shopping… The forecast looked quite good – fortunately my partner is tolerant (and likes the coast too) so we headed off for a walk in some rare late Autumn sunshine.
