Another lovely evening out in the Heytor area. The light was stunning and, away from the bulk of Heytor, there were not many people about at all. There were times when Heytor was quite busy however in the one above only the climbers are present.
[...] Although the ankle is still not good I ventured out for some short strolls on the moors yesterday (with it strapped up). The eastern area of Dartmoor around Hey Tor and Widecombe does not have the wide open spaces of the central moors and tends to be a little crowded at [...] Leaving home to head for the moors on Wednesday evening it was overcast and didn’t look all that promising but when we got to the southern end of Hameldon there were some glimpses of the sun.
The light on the opposite ridge (east of Widecombe) was lovely. It was illuminating [...] I had not been out on the moors for far too long and the forecast was for some sun (how often have I worked on the basis of the weather forecast…). I headed for Two Bridges planning to walk up the east bank of the West Dart walking on the ridge [...]
I’d been irritated at not having been able to get out on the moors with snow on the ground so far however I was lucky enough when I did get there. Arriving on the moors at around 9am the sun was still low though bright and the snow had now [...]
Hound Tor Well I guess everyone has to have a “first” blog sometime & this one is mine. The forecast for Thursday (8th) was good so I headed for the moors in the afternoon to catch some sunshine & photos. As the weather was good it was no surprise [...] |
