The UK has been suffering from some fairly substantial rainfall over the past week or so (high winds too). The Westcountry has not been as badly affected as the north west for example but rivers have risen substantially and there has been some flooding.

Ok well the above is from Dartmouth but as it looks out towards the open sea it is a useful one for context (and is a stitched panorama as well). The town does have a very long history dating back to the time of the crusades (12th century) when it [...] I was down on the river Dart in Totnes yesterday morning with the camera. It was a particularly high tide combined with the result of heavy rain on Dartmoor recently. This meant that the water level was as high as I’ve seen it in a while.
