Today with very low temperatures in the UK and in the Westcountry (-14 deg C locally on the news and -7 deg C at my house overnight) I was not sure how far on to the moors I would be able to get. I had planned to go out with a friend however [...] A couple of short walks today produced some nice pictures. Looking over Totnes towards the south of the moors gave me this one.
Looking up the River Dart at Totnes showed how cold it was last night. Bear in mind that the Dart is tidal and so salty at this [...] This goes back to the start of the month but I’ve only just had time to deal with these ones. They were taken crossing Dartmoor in later afternoon light. I think I will let them speak for themselves.
They are a little noisy compared to some maybe but [...]
I’d been irritated at not having been able to get out on the moors with snow on the ground so far however I was lucky enough when I did get there. Arriving on the moors at around 9am the sun was still low though bright and the snow had now [...] When I decided to start this blog I was fairly sure I would have to try and fit in a few postings that were not about Dartmoor to allow some slight balance. It saddens me that this is really only the second post on what is my favourite area of the West Country. [...]
Hound Tor Well I guess everyone has to have a “first” blog sometime & this one is mine. The forecast for Thursday (8th) was good so I headed for the moors in the afternoon to catch some sunshine & photos. As the weather was good it was no surprise [...] |
