It was a while since I had headed in the direction of Plymouth however I had to go there anyway so the camera was with me. I visited various spots on the eastern side of the Sound including Bovisand and Jennycliff.

While overall the countryside still looks rather faded and winter like a trip to Dartington Hall gardens yesterday showed that there are the start of signs of Spring.
In addition to the snowdrops (the scent was lovely) the shoots of a number of bulbs indicated that the [...] The UK has been suffering from some fairly substantial rainfall over the past week or so (high winds too). The Westcountry has not been as badly affected as the north west for example but rivers have risen substantially and there has been some flooding.
I’ve wanted to try and get [...] The plan last week was to go to the city to do some shopping… The forecast looked quite good – fortunately my partner is tolerant (and likes the coast too) so we headed off for a walk in some rare late Autumn sunshine.

(and for those who know my sense of humour this is the dark side not the far side!) Early on in the photography course I exchanged emails with a fellow student where we agreed we were being drawn to the “dark side” of photography. The photography course that I am doing is extremely rewarding and without it the images for this photo shoot would be quite different. I now look at things with a somewhat different eye. Someone has suggested I am getting a ‘house style’ but I haven’t spotted it for myself yet! [...] I was down on the river Dart in Totnes yesterday morning with the camera. It was a particularly high tide combined with the result of heavy rain on Dartmoor recently. This meant that the water level was as high as I’ve seen it in a while. Just back after four days mostly on the South West Coast path between Minehead and Woolacombe. With something over 400 images to sort through it will be a day or two before I can get what I want on here and elsewhere but I thought I’d put on a taster [...] The forecast was for a clear dawn so it was up early and out to catch some dawn light. It was not as good as last time (I’ll post those images another time maybe) but we did catch dawn & some early light. Some of the images may get used on the photography [...] |
