Photographs of a number of old structures made by man including Stonehenge, the oldest in this set, and the Caen Hill locks on the Kennet and Avon canal which are the most recent. Also included are images of Corfe Castle and the Cerne Abbas figure. All are located in the counties of Dorset or Wiltshire. [...] From Beaucens we headed east to Prades in the Pyrénées-Orientales and Catalan area of France. Intentionally we took a very minor road in the end which was very narrow, with very big bends in. The reason there have been no posts here for a while can be guessed at by looking at the title of this post. I’ve been touring in France for a while and I am now back and starting to sort through the photos I took. Given that we covered just under [...] For a variety of reasons I’ve not been out much recently and certainly not as much as I would have liked. It has been raining quite a bit over the past few days and the ground on the moors would be very wet so, given a forecast of reasonable weather, I headed towards the coast. The Little Egret seen above is not an uncommon species in the West Country these days but [...] The plan last week was to go to the city to do some shopping… The forecast looked quite good – fortunately my partner is tolerant (and likes the coast too) so we headed off for a walk in some rare late Autumn sunshine.
