The weather had not been that good for a few days so despite it looking a little grey and rather thundery I decided I had to get out.
It looked a little brighter when I got to Goodrington beach. It was quite warm and rather windy – the beach had few folk on.
The farthest tip of Cornwall is a special place for me. I’ve been going there since I was very young. In particular the coast from Penzance around to St Ives has a wide variety of scenery, small harbours, cliffs, beaches, lighthouses, remains of mining and other antiquities and even some moorland. Given the fact that Summer time will start soon making dawn earlier I thought I’d try and catch one before having to get out of bed very early. The forecast was for clear skies (right this time) but I’d missed the forecasted temperatures.

The weather was quite good and it was the last of the really low Spring tides of the season. It seemed worthwhile exploring the shoreline to see what might be exposed that would not be on normal low tides.
The low tide made the sign on Paignton harbour wall unnecessary for a while at least.

I was down on the river Dart in Totnes yesterday morning with the camera. It was a particularly high tide combined with the result of heavy rain on Dartmoor recently. This meant that the water level was as high as I’ve seen it in a while.
The results of that can been seen below.
