I’m just back from a break in Cornwall. We stayed in the far west close to Penzance. Heading down there it was a good day weather wise so we stopped off on route to make the most of the sunshine.
First stop was the small cove of Chapel Porth. It [...] Although the ankle is still not good I ventured out for some short strolls on the moors yesterday (with it strapped up). The eastern area of Dartmoor around Hey Tor and Widecombe does not have the wide open spaces of the central moors and tends to be a little crowded at [...] Looking to broaden the “ash plume sunset” images I headed up onto the moors yesterday evening. I started off wandering around the Hey Tor area. However the light was a bit glarey and lacked clarity (maybe an hour and a half before sunset) so I headed towards Honeybags/Chinkwell tors. By the time I [...] Leaving home to head for the moors on Wednesday evening it was overcast and didn’t look all that promising but when we got to the southern end of Hameldon there were some glimpses of the sun.
The light on the opposite ridge (east of Widecombe) was lovely. It was illuminating [...] Another of those days when I set out in hope of a walk. This time I had not driven far before I realised I was unlikely to get much of a walk in and I planned to be back for the afternoon to watch the rugby so my time was a bit limited. Just back after four days mostly on the South West Coast path between Minehead and Woolacombe. With something over 400 images to sort through it will be a day or two before I can get what I want on here and elsewhere but I thought I’d put on a taster [...] It looked like the day was going to be quite good so we decided to take a fairly short walk along the local part of the South West Coast Path.
